Learning Koine Greek has been on my mind for a certain time. I wanted to take a course at seminary but was not able to make it fit in my schedule. Then I decided to buy this book and self learn. I did some research before buying the book and it was on many people's suggestion list. They suggested that for the beginner who wants a solid and clear introduction on Koine Greek, this book is a must. I now believe them. The 4th edition of Basics of Biblical Greek is a fantastic tool to learn all the essentials of biblical Greek. The book starts with the alphabet and goes through the nouns, adjectives, prepositions, pronouns and verbs. Learning Koine Greek might seem like a daunting task, but the author arranges the material to help the learner as much as possible. You really have the impression that he thought of all the tips to help you learn the language progressively. At the end of each chapter there's a vocabulary section where there's new words to learn. I found the book to be accurate and balanced in interpreting Scriptures. The book is not a cliché about mission and evangelism but presents aspects that are often forgotten or not explained well in books on evangelism. You could tell from the way the author navigates through Scriptures that he seriously studied the verses for himself. He made it to be personal and refreshing. Nevertheless, considering the number of good reviews from the book and the names, i expected it to be more deep and academic. I didnt find the first half of the book to be very challenging as I already familiar with the material. It got better in the second half of the book. Overall, it would be the first book that i would recommend to any Christian wanting a general understanding of mission and evangelism.

I think the author presented a good case for defending Molinism and middle knowledge. He interacts with opposite views (mostly calvinism and open theism) and seems to fairly represent them. What caught my attention regarding this book is the number of subjects that are affected by Molinism. The author makes the case that Molinism best explains salvation and predestination, the problem of evil, inspiration and inerrancy, and even science.  In the conclusion he also opens a door for Molinism's impact on unfulfilled prophecy, prayer, evangelism, discipleship, ethics, eschatology and end-of-life decisions (subjects that could be developed in some other books or researches). Overall, it was a challenging read. It was my first book on the subject of Molinism and it was not an easy task.
